GETTING TO INDIA FLYING STANDBY!

It has been a struggle to just get out to serve here in India. Flying standby is an adventure in and of itself, but as an experienced standby traveler I made two HUGE mistakes to start out my trip. STANDBY RULE #1- Always try for an early plane, even if the later one looks good the night before. (I didn't follow) #2- NEVER check luggage if possible (I had to check luggage). These mistakes cost me two extra days in the states. I tried to get out on Friday, but was able to get on the road on Sunday morning. I was able to make ALL flights that day which was GREAT!
